Encelia farinosa
Encelia farinosa (brittle bush) is a round shaped bush that blooms in the springtime. This awesome plant is one of the first things to bloom in the year. It grows throughout winter and actually goes dormant during the summer!
The flowers formed neat stratified layers during the spring and attract butterflies and bees.
Indigenous people used the plant to make basket. Now, this plant is becoming a lot more common in Las Vegas since people are using it for native gardens and landscaping due to its desirable and flexible characteristics.
